YES, you will have two players playing simultanously, and this is what the whole app is about. You have two playlists: audiobook's playlist that you set inside this app and your normal playlist that you can set in iPod app from Apple. Of course the internal playlist saves automatically where you left the audiobook and resumes from the last place when you come back!
